TONY’S EXPERIENCE
Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries: I’ve served in state government for the last five years as a Civil Rights Division Manager and Customer Services & Quality Assurance Manager.
Small Business Owner: For 15 years, I owned our family small business - Portland Tissue Processing Lab - on the corner of NE 42nd & Alberta, providing histology services to medical providers across the state.
Real Estate Investor: For 20 years, I invested in residential and commercial property in North and Northeast Portland.
Youth Coach: For over 20 years, I served as a coach for baseball, basketball, and soccer Youth teams at Benson High School, Parkrose and more.
Portland Parks & Recreation: As a Recreation Coordinator, I coordinated Youth programming and social services for youth at University Park, Ockley Green, and St. Johns
Urban League of Portland: I managed Youth and Workforce programming, program delivery and contract management of public resources.
JOIN: As a housing and homelessness service provider, I was responsible for helping to connect property owners with individuals coming off the streets into housing. This was coupled with supporting property management functions with those partners.
meet Tony Robertson
Candidate for Multnomah County Commissioner, District 2
Born and raised in Northeast Portland. Tony Robertson was born at Kaiser Hospital on Greeley Ave. and grew up in the very district he now seeks to serve. He attended Alameda Elementary, Beaumont Middle School, and Benson Polytechnic High School, where he was a five-sport letterman. He went on to play baseball at San Diego State University and earned NAIA All-American honors at George Fox University. He is a proud inductee of both the PIL Hall of Fame and the Benson High School Hall of Fame.
District 2 is where Tony learned the values that have guided every chapter of his life: discipline, teamwork, showing up when it matters, and never letting your community down.
Tony was raised by a single father in Northeast Portland. He worked hard, showed up every day, and taught Tony that your word matters and that you don't let your community down. Those instilled values led and continue to lead him to public service; as a coach serving youth and families, at Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries to protect Oregon employees, and as a community-centered business owner. These words shaped the lens he has and guides his choice to run for Multnomah County District 2.
Tony has been married to his high-school sweetheart, Jane Palomo-Robertson for 28 years. Together they raised two sons, Bo Robertson and AJ Robertson, who graduated from Central Catholic High School.
He has dedicated his career to public service — at Portland Parks and Recreation, at the State of Oregon, coaching disadvantaged youth in North Portland, as a community-centered business owner on NE 42nd Ave., and as a residential and commercial real estate investor in Northeast Portland.
Every chapter of Tony's life has been rooted right here. The challenges facing District 2 are not abstract — they are personal.
